Take it slow....

I'm sure you all are beat from the long hours of dancing after reading the last post...
This line up is for those who feel like taking it slow.
If you're on the down low, relax and recover with these songs.

Pete Doherty.
The epitome of a rockstar:
Dated Kate Moss(Hot Model) + Co-led "The Libertines"(Successful british band) + started "Babyshambles"(side project) + publicized for heroine addiction =
ROCKSTAR.
Let's leave the past and all other factors out and simply enjoy his music.
Here's a live version of "Music when the lights go out". Also check out "The Libertines" version.

Pete Doherty - Music When The Lights Go Out

I heard this song blew up after it was used in Twilight. I wouldn't know because I've never watched the movie.

Iron and Wine - Flightless Bird American Mouth

Cat Power, She's got a distinct voice an an interesting way of performing. I hope the weird face expressions and happy hands aren't too much for you. Here's my favorite song by her. It's an older one.

Cat Power - The Greatest

Duh Duh Duh Duh Dance Music!

The passing of Michael Jackson was a shock to us all.
It's such a heart wrenching truth to accept isn't it?
Not only did he have an excellent voice, but his dance moves set
the standards! He did what he wanted to do on the dance floor and
the masses followed without question.
I mean.... come on..... he made it acceptable for men to grab their man parts and squeal
like little school girls.
It's sad to see him go, but there's no use in crying ourselves to sleep every night until the day we can finally rest in our graves.
Let's keep our heads up and keep him alive in the way that we move, or THE DARING can even attempt to arise and take his place as the one who defines "rage all night" dance moves.
Do you have what it takes to be "The One"?
After all, it is the profound people of the past that have inspired the newer generations
to do better.

Basically, what I am trying to say is....
Listen to Chromeo while working on your sweet dance moves.
They'll get your body rocking and your feet sliding for some dance floor shredding.

Chromeo - Night By Night

Chromeo - Don't Turn The Lights On

Rocker's Delight

Allow me to introduce you to The Zutons! This English indie rock band from Liverpool hit it big with the release of "Valerie" off of their 2006 "Tired of Hanging Around" album. A good fix for when your itching for some rock n roll!

The Zutons - Valerie

What about The Black Keys?
I've heard a lot of good things about this rock duo, but never put an effort to give them a shot.
Unfortunately, I do not know much about their older music, but I do know that their new album "Brothers" is a great listen.
Give the album a listen. Satisfaction guaranteed!

Couples Indie Playlist

So the holidays are coming soon and so is the cold weather!
All you men out there, hold your women closely if you don't want to spend the cold winter season alone. Here are a list of songs for you love birds. Maybe you can even learn a few and perform for your spouse? Then surely you will see a lot of happy endings to your winter nights :) For those ridin solo, hit me up on them cold winter nights and maybe we can share a bowl of popcorn, study biology, or explore some nearby wooded areas.

Bright Eyes - First Day of my Life
Old song.... but I just discovered it a few months ago.

Katie Melua's - Just Like Heaven
If you haven't heard the original by The Cure, you should also check it out. Often times we are reluctant to give praise for artists who attempt to cover such brilliant songs but I think she did an amazing job with her sweet voice and I have no remorse in giving up a few minutes of my life to listen to this. She's captivated me and I'm on an adventure to discover more about her music. Men.... don't show the video to your lady if you've got a jealous girlfriend!

Band Of Horses - No Ones Gonna Love You More Than I Do
This song is kinda old, but i've been listening to it for a few years and like to listen every once in a while.
Check out the sweat on his beard, he definitely really loves someone.

A little bit of MGMT and The Cults!

I'm not even sure if you can still consider these guys Indie after the exposure they got from their last album and it doesn't help that they are signed to Columbia Records, but I like em and they're not Justin Bieber, so I consider them Indie and wanted to share their music. Also, they are a hipster's delight and entertain many individuals who live an unconventional "indie" lifestyle.
I can't say that I'm completely sold on their new album just yet, but I do know that I love "Congratulations".

MGMT - Congratulations

Summer is not over yet! Here's a fun little summer track that's good for those warm and sunny beach days! This is not their official music video. An individual who goes by the name of Halveraptor on Youtube made it. I think he did an excellent job.

The Cults - Outside

Tranquil music for times of Enlightenment

I don't know if it's because I'm getting older now, but I'm beginning to listen to somber and relaxing music more often. Maybe i'm experiencing my quarter life crisis? Now that doesn't mean I have completely forbidden my love for face melting guitar solos, slick dance grooves, and vocal chord mutilating jams. As timid as I may seem, I also enjoy some gangster rap every now and then. Tupac isn't forsaken from my playlist either and I have love for Biggie too.
The point I'm trying to get across is that you should make room in your heart for music of all sorts.
Hopefully these tracks can bring you inspiration during times of relaxation and reflection.

Sigur Ros - Heima

Radiohead - Nude

Modest Mouse - Little Motel

Korean Indie Music

I'm Korean and enjoy Korean Music. Here are some Korean Indie bands i've been listening to.

Telepathy - U.F.O.

At first glance, I thought they were kinda cheesy. I still kind of do, but there's something about them that I find appealing. I believe there is a psychological connection and I get the feeling this attraction is due in part by the retro synth riff heard throughout the song. It makes me feel nostalgic. Reminding me with waves of childhood summer nights, late night video gaming, and nickelodeon. Bowl cuts are still cool if you ask me.

Ibadi - Neverending Story
I'm straight chillen.... loungin..... relaxin... all the while listening to this song.
This is the way life should be. Listen to this and leave all the drama, haters, worries, or whatever problems you have behind.

Vanilla Unity - Hero

This ones for you daring rockers that don't get butt hurt from a little screaming.
